Helo there im new the shave den and i just wanted to introduce myself. Many people find it odd that i am into the long lost art of wet shaving because im only 15. My girl friend finds it odd but she loves the scent of roses along with the smooth feeling of a clean shave. When i was younger say 5 or 6 years old i remember i would get up on the weekends and watch my father shave, it was intruiging to me. Of course it was the 90's and Edge Pro Gel and the Gilette Sensor were the rage at the time, and thats what my father used. I was always interested in shaving and when i was 14 i woke up one day to find rough bristles on my face. I went out and bought a mach 3 and sum edge pro gel and it made me think of my father and i smiled as i put it on and shaved. The results were horrible and i had razor burn, bumps, spots, dry skin, and i broke out intensely. I was happy that i only shaved once evey 2 weeks. But since i turned 15 i have had to shave every day and my face couldnt handle the damage. One day i saw a link to a video on myspace called the perfect shave and it talked all about wet shaving. To me it looked classy, and alot better than goo and mach 3. I quickly investigated on youtube and came across a man named mantic59, which was my guide into this world of wet shaving; and im sure all of you have met him. Just recently i purchased a Merkur HD 38C, a Muehler pure badger brush, and old taylor of bond street rose shaving cream and a tube of proraso. The results amazed me. I use a mix of traditional and "method shaving" in my technique and it works out very well for me. Its like an art and hobby for me now and i think im kinda obsessed with it. I joined this site just to discuss with other wet shavers and improve upon myself in the future. Well, just sayin hello. In the mean time; How bout a shave?
Mark (Mantic) has been the ruin of many a poor boy. Welcome to The Shave Den! I hope we don't get you mixed up with the other cutthroat around here!

Welcome to The Shave Den Cutthroat! Great to have you here with us, you made a great choice on the 38C and the Taylors Rose....I love them both I usually shave at night as well, my mornings are far too rushed as it is Neale
i get up at 5:50 durring the week durring the school year and im out the door by 7 so i have more than enough time. Plus my girl friend wont kiss me if i dont shave.
Being unemployed sucks, but at least I can plan a shower and shave and grooming inbetween my TV shows and can have all the time I need. I may have a week more of it, but I better find a job. Welcome Cutthroat! I'm happy someone discovered classic shaving in their earliest shaving years. What a better time to start, but when you were going to learn anyway? Beware that hobby aspect. I sure have run up a credit card bill in my couple of months in this "Hobby".
congratulations It's awesome you discovered DE shaving at your age. My father is a good guy, but he handed me canned shaving cream and a Trac II cartridge razor when I started shaving. Wish I knew about DE shaving a long time ago.
