    Hi all,

Just won a Gillette Black Beauty on ebay (20.50 USD).

It's probably going to take a while for it to get to DK, so I wanted to ask in the forum how clean it correctly once it gets here.

    Current State:
    - A lot of soap stuck on the handle - and probably in other places as well.
    - Some rust in the "blade compartment".

I have cleaned razors before, but never one with plastic parts and rust...

How would you approach this task?

I had a ton of gunk on one of my handles, and I couldn't get the 1/4 turn to turn. I soaked it in dish soap for a couple of days. Bingo!

Thank you "all" - I think I will choose the "ultrasonic" path. ;-)

You can try Cilit Bang Active Foam first - I use it to clean my razors - works very nice. It's the equivalent of the much apprized Scrubbing Bubbles that always gets mentioned here. You can get it many places, like Føtex or Bilka.

    Hello,

Whatever else you do, don't scrub the black with anything remotely abrasive. The black resin coating will come off quickly, leaving you with a slightly fatter-handled Slim.

Don't ask me how I know this. :(

I agree with ^^ you can watch this video and get some ideas, just watch out for the harsher chemicals.
