Hello all. I was walking in a local antiques store today and saw this brush for sale. I wish I would have taken a picture of the knot and the handel but they looked ok and I am thinking about diving into the restoring pool anyway. The asking price was $10 so that won't break the bank. Just thought I would get some feedback from those who are in the know if this is a good brush. Thanks.

I have paid less and I have paid more. If you like the looks of the handle then ten bucks is not a bad price. The value of any brush in my opinion is the knot you put in it, but if you are buying a great knot, be happy with the handle too.

Also, if it is your first restore, you might want to try one or two with a handle you are not so fond off.

This was a Mohawk brush. If yours looks like this (different color obviously) it would be a great candidate.

Erik, I believe that picture will only show up for B&B members who are logged in.

Ooh, I really like the black & cream 10-340. Dan, does the handle look like this one?

Sweet! I'm looking forward to seeing her makeover. I remember your question about knot removal. This is one that I'd drill out. (I don't use the steam method for old wood handles).
