Cella is excellent. My nose has a problem with it, seems to make me want to gag due to the bitterness of the almond, still, I really love the way it shaves and want to use it often. Here's my question: Is there an essential oil or a fragrance oil that I can purchase from somewhere like Barclay Crocker that will transform Cella's bitterness to something much less aggravating to my nose, just by adding a few drops and mixing it well?
I would think so, would airing it out help the initial scent subdue? Maybe leaving it open a couple days with some stirs in between, and then adding a nice sweet FO or EO? I tried that with VDH deluxe, as it was cheap, great and available locally. Worked out great with some FO from the local hippy store.
Of all the diversity of experiences on the shaving forums, I have become convinced that the olfactory experiences are the most diverse. I love the smell of Cella.
I've spoken with an expert fragrance blender. She asked me to send her a sufficiently large sample of Cella, and she's going to figure out what I need to add. That makes me a happy guy!
Cella is a soft soap, right? If so, adding fragrance to it will probably require a taffy pulling machine.
I'll have Cella all over the place. I think I'll pull it out of the tub and put it on a disposable foam plate and work it with my fingers or maybe the backside of a fork or maybe a popsicle stick. You're right about the mess.
