Hi Everyone, I'm a fairly new DE shaver and a wannabe straight shaver. Have been hanging out at B&B and SRP for a couple of months now and just discovered TSD. Right now, I'm shaving with a '56 SS that belonged to my dad. It was the first razor I ever shaved with back in 1972 or so (it was a vintage razor even then!). I also use my granddad's '49 SS. Both are really clean looking, great shavers and it's a real pleasure to have finally mastered them. I'm fortunate to own 7 straights that were my granddads and am looking forward to restoring them and easing my way up another shaving learning curve. I actually shaved with one or two of these back in high school (about thirtymumble years ago) and although I didn't have them quite sharp enough they shaved well. After all of these years, they're in need of some TLC. Anyway, enough blather. Thanks for having me here! Cheers, Tom
Long time no see my good friend. Glad to see you here, Nice group of guys we have here in the den. Be sure to enter the newbie month giveaway, look for a link when the Queen checks in. I got my pens you fixed for me the other day, that Wahl eversharp looks fantastic. Can't wait to ink it up and give it a spin. Come check out the How's your day thread sometime.
Welcome! Enjoy your shaves, and I look forward to seeing those straights! I'm a recent straight shaving convert, myself.
Welcome to the Den. I am glad to hear that you are able to hold on to your father's and grandfather's razors. Excellent!
Jim, I took some photos a little while ago - have a look here. Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! Cheers, Tom
