Ive been lurking the forums for a few months now and figure id join in. Just like to say thanks to everyone, I have learned quite a bit so far. Ive been using a DE for a few months and wish I had switched a long time ago. Im still learning and getting used to using it but have never had a shave this close. I never used any pre or after shave products before either and am loving those. My original reason for switching was due to the cost of the cartridge replacements. Unfortunately the money I saved there I spent on creams and pre/post oils and lotions, im ok with that though Next up will be a straight, I am very interested (and nervous) to try one.

Hi! Welcome to the Den. And don't be nervous about straight razors. They were used for hundreds of years before the safety razor and I figure if they could do, I can do it. Watch the videos, make sure you have a shave ready razor (professional honed. Store bought does not mean it is necessarily shave ready, but you'll learn that as you read and watch the videos), go slow, pay attention, and you'll do fine.
