Hello! New member, similar story... I've been 'lurking' a few forums for about a month, have enjoyed the '30 day forum', took the plunge and joined up. I've been wet shaving (brush and decent creams/soaps) with a cartridge for a few years now, but just started with a DE about 3 weeks ago after finally realizing there had to be a better way. Folks on here seem to ask about gear, so here goes: Razor is an EJ 89lbl, 2 brushes- one synthetic from my cartridge days and one 24mm High Mountain from Larry at WD bought this past month. Currently working my way through a blade sampler. Started with the Derby blades that came with the razor, and have now moved on to the Astra SPs from my sampler. Current creams are TOBS Sandalwood and Mr. Taylor's, Proraso Green (apparently I'm not much of a menthol fan, but am hoping I like it more in Spring!) and AoS Sandalwood. Have had them all for a bit. Only hard soaps I've used are two from Crabtree and Evelyn. They're not in the current rotation. All the gear is pretty standard stuff, bought based on reviews and what folks had to say on these types of forums.
Thank you. I have been making brushes a little over two years now. The first 102 handles were made without a lathe. http://jrshaving.blogspot.com/p/the-jayaruh-brushes.html
