As of now I'm using a sock. Wanting to find a talc bulb puffer. Curious as to how others apply talcum powder.
Howdy! I use a brush for talc. I usually use talc on my neck, underarms, and torso. Some may use it after applying aftershave to the face. Always, Gene
haven't you ever watched gymnastics or powerlifting? it's that white powdery stuff they rub all over their hands and wrists to get a better grip. I always apply some before doing the parallel bars. Oh, and diaper rash. It's used on baby's bottoms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talc
I had a couple of talc bulb puffers bought online from a German seller on ebay, Joachim , store named Actifshaves. He ships stateside , no problem. Currently I, like Gene, use a talc brush and it works great for me got mine from Appleton's Barber Supply.

Old time talc containers were made that had a cloth pad used for applying the powder. When not in use, the pad sat in the container on top of the talc. I'm surprised to hear that it is still in use. The powder used in powerlifting and gymnastics is chalk, not talc. Talc is slippery, but chalk provides a good grip on the bar.
I had a roommate in college who used talc regularly. Problem is, since we shared bathrooms, this is what greeted me most morningsā¦
