I went for a 29.65 mile bike ride this afternoon. 3 cities in 2 counties. In Portland there's a bike trail called the Springwater Corridor. It's about 22 miles long. I took the bus out to a spot near the trail, rode to one end of it in Boring, OR, then turned around and rode into Portland, ending at a bar for bikes called Apex where I drank about a gallon of water and 2 pints of Guinness before taking the bus back home. I'm beat! This is the GPS'd ride. Time would've been much better was stopped along the way to rehydrate a few times.
If you use an iPhone there is a very good app for it called " Runtastic Road Bike PRO GPS Cycling Computer, Ride and Route Tracker" It's normally a paid app but for 24 hours it's free on the App store .
Your a beast! My middle son rides from San Jose to San Francisco in 4hrs, on a fixed gear bike. He also does bike parties. Excellent ride you had! Bravo!
Thanks for the tip! I don't do smartphones anymore, but if I do in the future I'll check it out. I use a Garmin GPS watch Forerunner 110. I can use it for runs or rides. The only thing I take with me on a ride is ID and a few $$ and the watch. Thanks!
Mr. S, I am very impressed by your ride. I am also fascinated to know that there is actually a toen called Boring.
Thanks Sarah! And the town lives up to its name, for sure!! Fun Fact: Boring has a sister city in Scotland called Dull.
