How many shaves do you average per blade?

Just curious. It seems that no matter what blade I use I average about 5 shaves per blade. Some blades kick out earlier and I replace them around 4 but usually replace them around 5. Anyone getting similar results?

 

if pushed, usually toss after three. life's too short for a bad shave. I wasted too many years hating shaving. why push a bad blade.

 

After paying exorbitant prices for cartridge blades for 29yrs before making the switch to de razors I treat myself to a new blade everyday with a grand smile on my face.

 

Fresh DE blade in on Monday, toss after Friday's shave - 5 three-pass shaves.

Fresh SE blade on the first Sunday of the month, toss after the last Sunday's shave - 4 or 5 three-pass shaves.

Str8s on Saturdays - indefinite number of three-pass shaves.

I know I could get 6-7 shaves out of my blades, but I have no desire to suffer with the tug and pull of a dull blade.

Bottom line, the answer to how many shaves you will get will come only after you ask your face, not us

 

4 and out.

 

No more than four for me, and even that is a rare occasion. I'm willing to pay a few cents extra for an enjoyable shave.

 

I usually toss them after two shaves. I know, just because Astras are cheap doesn't mean it's okay to be wasteful but it's a guilty pleasure to shave with a very sharp blade every time. Also, I'm shaving the back of my neck every second shave.

 

5-7 face shaves per DE blade
2 head shaves per DE blade

 

I do 7 unless I have a problem. So, seven and out. I do two pass shaves.

 

I go for six. Six makes the tightwad in me feel better. I know a lot as to do with the brand of blade. Some last longer than others. Also, my whiskers are not real coarse. As with everything YMMV

 

Usually three and out for me, too. I have gotten seven good shaves from a Voskhod.

 

Most DE blades i can get five three pass shaves out of without any problem some blades only two shaves, The SE blades about the same

 

3 or less. I'm not messing around with something dull.

 

With DE blades its two and out usually. SE injector blades are a different story though. I can typically get 7-8 uses quite easily without any drop off in performance.

 

2 and toss...it's just blades...

 

3 or 4....could probably get more but I like opening a new blade

 

For GSB: Already the first shave is tugging, I definitely do not get more than one bad shave
For Feather: 2 shaves and then out
For KAI: 4-5 shaves.

So, it completely depends on the blade brand for me.

 

I toss when it feels lesser than a new. Usually after 3-7 depending on blade.

I do 3 passes.

 

DE blades it's exactly 2, 2 four pass shaves and done.

SE and injector blades its 3 four pass shaves and done.

Straights, I have not thrown any out.
