YYuppp(loud lung breath)......6th grade, the year rebellion begins. (Course if you don't have a reason to rebel, the thing just doesn't happen).

17 and enlisted. I had never shaved and didn't have any facial hair, but my company commander made me go through the motions anyway.

I started shaving at the end of 8th grade. I had a pretty good mustache and a full beard by the time I got to 12th grade. I usually shaved because my Dad did not like the way beards looked - on himself or anyone. He did not "make" me shave, but I always tried not to disappoint him. On the plus side, when I returned to the proper way to shave we all enjoy, I discovered that my Dad had been using Tabac in his mug since at least the 70s. It makes that scent and performance that much better for me today.

No need to imagine - the formula has not changed since 1959 I think.

Gotcha, yea that's impressive not alot of companies keep the same formula for that long.

I had thick sideburns at the beginning of my 17th trip around the sun. So, I would say I started at 16 years of age, but it could've also been right before 16.

Cool idea for a thread! I started shaving in 1975 at age 13 or so. By 1977 I was shaving regularly and I had a mustache. I think I started on an electric shaver because my father used one but I switched to disposable razors and Barbasol shortly after since I didn't feel the electric razor gave me a close enough shave. After 45 years of shaving I am now using DE safety razors. My 1951 Gillette Tech (I recently received) using a new Wilkinson blade gave me a great 3 pass shave today! After 9 hours my face was still smooth!

1958 when I was 15 or 16 years old. I started using my dad's Gillette TTO razor, when he realized I was using his razor he gave it to me and gave me the best and only advice on how to use the razor,he told me to be very careful when removing and loading a razor blade.
I guess back then you learned to do things on your own, no videos or internet to teach you to do things.

I've never really tried electric razors before, I have one friend who uses electric and another friend, who I got into using safety razors.

Errr… I want to say around second year of middle school. I got stuck with Bic and canned foam because my dad wouldn’t let me use his DE.
