How to get rid of stray cats

We have a problem with stray cats (looks like a mother and a couple of kittens) that like to crawl under and onto our deck. Our concerns; they knock over my Bonsai, they are not vaccinated for anything and are likely to be aggressive.

I won’t approach them, given what I just said. I don’t want to harm them, but do want them to stay the heck away from my deck. We sprinkle out cayenne pepper, which repels them for a while. But it will wash or blow away, and they just come back, until we can re-apply it. Any other ideas to keep them away?

Coffee grinds, pipe tobacco, spread citrus peels near the area, blood meal fertilizer. Those were some of the things I've found to help repel without hurting them. Try hosing down the area to remove their scent.

    Cats despise water...
A little spray with the hose now and then to chase them out might do it.

I normally tame them, get them fixed keep one for mice outside, give the rest away.

    Call animal control.
They should put out traps for nuisance animals. Prolly a death sentence, maybe they get adopted.

Allergic, so keeeping them isn’t an option. And spraying only works if I catch them in the act. Often, I see them on my security rcordings.

Cats keep the mice and rats away. In the bigger industrial plants, they are often tolerated for that reason.

I would say the answer depends on which side of the PETA fence you are on. You could use a 2.2, or as @Terry said.
water. My neighbour uses a high power super soaker for this reason.

My goodness, Mr. G., that's the worst thing you can do to a cat-pult the thing.

I second that idea. Some leading cat protection oganizations like to use TSNR (Trap, Spay, Neuter, Release).

Ok, I didn't explaine how to tame a feral cat/kitten. A litter of feral cats can be put into the same cage, use a large dog cage that they can't fit through the wire.
Put the kitty litter in a pan in the cage for them. Feed and water them in the cage, about 2 weeks they will be settled down. This works great for kittens, adult cats may take longer.

I think you missed the post where I said I am allergic to cats.
