I just bought a new vulfix fine badger hair brush but dont have a brush stand. What would be a good way to store it without ruining it?

Use it...Rinse it....shake out the excess..and leave it in a place it can breathe so to speak. Dont throw it in a drawer or someplace dark and damp.

It will be fine, you dont have to have a brush stand

Should I leave it standing up upside down on its handle with the bristles in the air or lay it on its side? I'm guessing upside down on its handle.

No less of an expert than DrP (the owner of 160 or so brushes!) tells us that no stand is needed. Just do as Isaac suggests and stand it upright. You'll be fine.

Sounds good. Thank you all very much, I dont know what I'd do without you all.

Oh wait, I do. I'd have nothing to shave with and no clue what I was doing.

I don't think you really need a brush stand, but I still use one to dry my brush. I have a decent size cheap stand that any of my brushes will fit on. I put it on there after use in the morning then in the evening return it to the rack with all my other brushes once it has completely dryed. Maybe it's just habit, but works well for me.

Oddly enough I have 2 razor/brush stands at home that I have to bring out here to my appt. I'll sell the gold one I have on here and see if anybody wants it. I must say that the vulfix brush I bought works amazingly well and I'm very excited about it. I took a picture of my new one and my old one but dont have any picture resizing software on this computer. Working on rebuilding the other. So I also ordered a tube of TOBS avocado cream and I'm assuming classic shaving was out of the tubes because they sent me a tub. I think its a bit to spicy for me and is irritating my face, although it could just be from a bad shave a few days ago. I'll have to try it again once my face is pristine again. Does anybody else have this problem with the avocado cream? I thought it was supposed to be gentle and super moisturizing :ashamed001

And yes, without you all, I would have a lot more money in my pockets :D

Most seem to rave about the avocado. I thought it smelled HORRIBLE, so I sold it. Only used it a couple of times...seemed to work fine, but I really hated the scent. To each his own.

    ahem......

You, my friend, are JUST getting started :shocked003
The irony in all of this is many of us came to proper wet shaving under the false pretense that we would actually SAVE money.
    NOT true.........at all

Oh please Rick.. if I wanted to SAVE money I would cancel my internet service, turn off the lights and hide. Too much great stuff out there to buy! :D

    All about the experience!

Saving money is most definitely a false pretense. I sell text books to support my habit. I mean, who needs to learn latin anyway? :D

I just went back to my bathroom and smell like there was an avocado war in there. I'll have to give this stuff another try before i trade it.

    EVERYONE should learn Latin. Period.

I guess its a good thing I already finished all my latin classes :D I did have to let go of a comparative evolutionary biology book and the matching dissection book to pay for my latest haul. Maybe I'll sell an organic chemistry book and pick up a straight razor...

I took 2 years of Latin in High School :)

    Why?

The ONLY thing I remember from my Latin classes is amo, amas, amat. Just the words - no CLUE what they mean. It's certainly been very useful to me over the years.
