don't they have to ask before they go over their quote?
isn't that why they quote a price. isn't that a binding contract.

 

Oh, it gets better... it's the "friend of a friend of a friend" sort of thing. Well, it will get straightened out or the BBB will be getting an earful for starters. But, I'm still .... erm.... very annoyed.

 

Yes on all accounts. I never would have approved an additional 4k for a second (needed) coat of paint. But, I'm sure the guy is trying to "make up" for the fact that he wanted to spray the coat and I told him no way... cedar shingles get a brush. I made him do two primer coats b/c he sprayed it and it looked like carp.

 

I'm not an authority, and this isn't legal advice. but I'd offer to pay for material, he can eat labor for not gettin permission first.
and document any further communication. this may end up in court.

 

and if it does,
you'll be in favorable position by trying to meet him in the middle

Pretty hectic day today actually. There was a terrorist threat for the soccer match Germany vs. Netherlands and approx. 90 minutes before kickoff the game had been canceled and the arena has been evacuated. In fact the whole city is still high security zone. And since I work for Germany's biggest newspaper, you might be able to imagine how my day was Fortunately nobody has been hurt today.

Busy morning; I had to get up early to take my husband to the train. As long as I was up & around, I took my car to the mechanic to get my front left turn light fixed. It was done quickly, and for the princely sum of $8.00.

 

Backstraps, tenderloins, 3 great roasts, 4 jalapeno & cheese salami, 4 pounds of jerky tenders, 24 pounds of ground venison!

Life is good!

I am just finishing the workday at 5:30 and
all my bugs are cleaned out of the code.
I have all of next week off.
And my birth date razor arrived
and a second razor in a case I can use for the B-day razor
The kids are healthy
Spouse still does not want a divorce
Our 3 Siberian Huskies have not *yet* jumped up and stolen our dinner.

Cant imagine how it could be better.

Great grocery store. I wish we had one nearby and I had more time to go "shopping".

 

Still negotiating. Although he did admit that he "accidentally" re-charged me for supplies (paint) that were included in the original bid.

Still waiting for the apartment to stop stinking... stupid penguins...

We were stopping by home for maybe 10 minutes between school and daughter's therapy session on Wednesday.. I popped a hot pocket in the microwave for 2 minutes for a snack while I took the dog out and took care of a few things. I was in the middle of a phone call when I smelled smoke and looked at the kitchen to see smoke barreling out in all directions. When I got to the microwave, it was still counting down on its 2 minute timer but had 4:36 left in the count down. Eh??? (penguin mischief if I ever saw such a thing!) On the bright side of things, I proved without a doubt that the three smoke detectors that go off every time I boil water do not in fact detect smoke.

Oh and I spilled most of a bottle of Diet Dew in my lap today at work.

It has been a great week! But I have had some fun watching classic music videos. Burning down house.. We didn't start the fire.. Beds are burning...

 

Diet Dew is bad for yew (see what I did there?) anyhow.

And, you should be grateful that the penguins helped you find a serious malfunction in your fire detectors.
