.... So, Glacial Tuxedo (glacial sharp dressed man) came out... My wife's alternator went out too.... .... ...... ...
I'd say lesson learned... glacial tuxedo does not belong in engine compartment no matter how much the alternator needs a shave.
They used to have a nice re-enactment of Pacific Island warfare with a lot of flamethrowers. It's been several years since I was there, but it's definetely worth a visit.
Well prayers and minions, flippers, and ears crossed worked. I got word shortly after my interview that I got the job. Right now its a 2-3 month contract but if they like me then I'll be on permanent. Start Monday and cannot wait to get working again!
They still have the reenactments but alas, they're on a schedule I am not on. The drought here has devastated the Japanese Peace garden. I'd love to live down here, but at 30K an acre...
Been an interesting day or so. Yesterday, I began some interesting volunteer work. I am tutoring an Afghan girl in English, via Skype. We had our first chat yesterday. I am required to keep details to a minimum, but I will say she was utterly charming and it was productive. This morning, I made a second attempt at buttermilk biscuits. Attempt 1 was OK; flaky but not so fluffy. Attempt #2 was better; tasty & fluffier. (I used a different recipe and baked them right on my baking stone.)
So my first week back in the office (this Tuesday-Friday, past), and I'm back on the pain meds. Obviously, the road to recovery is longer than anticipated, and I overdid it once I got back into the swing of things. My left wrist is on fire during certain movements (so don't do that!!), which is somewhat limiting and frustrating. I'm scheduled for PT next week….grrrrrrrrrr.
when talking pt, pain it's your friend. it lets you know where the boundaries are, shows you progress, and let's you know it when you go to fast. pain killers when needed, but anti-inflamitories are also helpful, more at night though.
