Getting ready to go back to Penguin school? I’m getting ready for my favorite pastime, for the day after Labor Day...gloating.

Penguin school. I need more information. I am a late blooming student at a young age of 50, and working on a second masters. One day I want to start a terminal degree.

Pleasant day-primary voting day here. Ran a few errands after voting. Marveled at the site of my apartment-nice and clean since the cleaning lady came Sunday.

Week one of my final Java course is over, week two is half way done. It's a good month. I can't wait until I never have to take another programming course again. Yep, I'm a network engineer, not a programmer.

Reading and Internet research are great ways to learn without attending school. Course now there are classes you can take ON the internet(Univ. of Phoenix, for instance).

Halfway another long work week (Mon-Sat). Catching up on the news on TSD. Bought a razor to PIF over here at TSD and probably another one to sell (proceeds go to TSD). Both are Dutch made bakelite razors from the 1930's (Philite). Excellent shavers (got two already and they have become my bi-daily go-to razors). Planning to take some good pics and starting a Philite thread.

Pic: all Dutch shave. Brush (vintage DVH), soap (DVH), razor (vintage Philite), blade (vintage Terra). And me (taking the pic :D ).

Thank you. I was suspicious of the tel me sentence ... it seemed too literal. But Google insisted.

And of course it's still a challenge to express things as a native would as opposed to just translating English.

If that's what I meant, I would have said, "oui, oui!"

I saw a movie once where a real arrogant guy asked someone, "Where's the bathroom? Down the hall...." with a big smile, figuring the person would say "3rd door on the left"(or wherever it was). I'd have said, "Yes, it IS down the hall", and left it at that.
