Interestingly, I was able to date the watch to 1901 (using its serial number). That is before my grandma was born. I suspect that she bought it later in life, from a jeweler who sold vintage watches. I am basing that on the fact that, by the time she could afford such a thing, it would have been pretty old.
Very cool. Although, it sounds funny to hear about someone selling vintage watches in a time period that we consider vintage for us.
Its friday, I'm exhausted. Time for a nap. Oh.. cool watch! But... ummm What is the 10-50 part for? I am guessing that tilts upward and is used to align the sun properly for the latitude. But then, I am just guessing and blathering and rambling.. But how would those in more extreme latitudes tell time? How would it work in the arctic/antarctic circles? did I mention that I'm exhausted
Very nice! I vascelate about getting a pocket watch. I think I like the idea more than the actual owning of one.
I own one given to me by a friend. I carry it on occasion. They aren't overly practical. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Things are going great! I have enrolled in a 12 week program for heavy equipment technicians and am a week in...I love it! This is the first time in YEARS that I am actually excited to get up in the morning.. .and that's with a 75 minute drive to the school to. Like, I absolutely love the program! I'm still poorer than dirt, but I am finally happy! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Just found a pack of Schick injectors at Wallgreens and they included an ingredients category which listed none..I think they forgot to mention all that steely goodness in there..
Watching the wind and rain from Irma, no biggie so far. I'm in South Carolina, will probably get some water accumulation. Florida folks got hammered!
