Here in zone 6, we typically wait until after Mother's Day to plant, so my garden is still getting started.
Very nice, Joseph. I look forward to seeing updated photos as the season marches on. I’m letting our vegetable garden lay fallow this year. Instead, this week actually, I’m going to start working on the native pollinator garden Gayle asked me to plant. The landscaper recently pulled out the ancient hedges and now I can start turning over and adding compost to the soil. Then the planting after that. I’m one old guy with two prosthetic knees, so much slower than in my heyday. One day at a time… Enjoy Mother Earth!
Garden update: Harvesting some delicious lettuce. I like to trim the spinach leaves and the kale for juice/smoothies. When the collards and chard get bigger, they'll be included. The cucumbers are diggin' the trellis. Fairly bug/insect free so far. Fingers crossed. (I don't use any chemicals on the garden)
We just planted tomatoes and beans this year, and 2 cucumber plants my friend gave me. Everything is looking good.
Doing well. Tomatoes, Brussel sprouts and bell peppers in the back bed. Potato, bush beans and sweet potato in the front bed. We've had a meal or 2 with the beans so far. Also a bit of basil and marigolds for the pollinators.
tomatoes, radishes, peas beans, squash, flowers for the polinators, all on our back roof patio,4th floor penthouse..
I would not tell @Sara-s about this thread if I were you guys. You know what happened with Mr. McGregor's garden.
I spoke too soon. My western red cedar, which I’ve had for a bout 10 years, looked fine last week. But then, seemingly out of nowhere, it died. Bummer.
