Since I started wet shaving I have been ragging on my dad to try it, be patient, and the kicker: IT'S CHEAP!
I have had him trying the different razors I got and had him find what type of razor he's looking for. Well, last night I came downstairs and he was looking at DE's & shavettes online. He was showing me different ones he liked, and I gave the best input I could. I walked into the restroom while he was shaving today and he was using the '66 Super Speed, and he was ranting the whole time. He was all "Brent you might be on to something." "Wow what a great shave!" "You say they are only .15 a blade?!" "I'm paying $5 a blade!" The seed has been planted. Mwhahahahahahahahaha :happy108:may the RAD begin.

Now you need to get him over here so he can receive THE 30 DAY RULE! ;)

Don't forget to tell him about the head shaving ceremony and saffron robe wearing. If that doesn't sell him, nothing will.

I don't think I can get him to dig that. He might stop by to research, but papa isn't much for reading :p

    He already does! :o

Congrats. Now that the hook is set, don't force it. Switch out what you leave in the bathroom every so often and let him come to you with questions.

My father always used the brush and soap, but he wanted nothing to do with a DE. I'm not sure why, but I would guess that it was some rough shaves with carbon blades in his younger days. He did try an injector once and didn't say much about it.

I try to get my Father and my Brother into it. They are both hesitant. All my brother has to do is get a DE and Blades. He already usses a Brush and Soap.

Not necessarily my friend. I'm waiting on him to get more comfortable with a DE first, and then step him up to a more aggressive DE. You're still on the list! His birth year is '67, so I am going to try to find him a '67 SS.

Good on ya'! It's so hard to raise them right! You teach them and counsel them, you fret a lot, then you hope for the best... Sounds like ole' Dad is finally starting to show the fruits of all your labors. Way to go!

Wish I could my dad to. He only uses dollar store deposable razors these days and barbersol. He has used cheap brushes and Williams shave soap at times but never anything but cartridge razors. He's so cowboy redneck I thought I would get home to do it. His face is always red from his shaving habits but he sticks with it.

I just bought a Red Tip from my dad's birth year to have restored as part of a wet shaving kit I plan to give him for Father's Day. Got a great deal from a guy on another forum. Several people he knows have gotten into wet shaving recently and he has expressed interest in their reasons but not a desire to do it himself yet. He is a man who loves his tools and I think some pretty hardware will put him over the top.

My dad decided tonight to get an Arko stick and try face lathering or brush lathering. I'm quite stoked.

Let him know the Red Tip is quite aggressive.
My father is quite the true tight... wad :D

Haha I have a rabbit that looks like that living in my cane, a chipmunk in my front flower bed, fox under my shed, and a wife that's better than Snow White.
