Greeting Shave Den, I was always more of a lurker when I was active on this board. Then I left for two years to do some traveling down in Brazil. Things around here have definitely changed in the past two years! My mind is still being blown with the new visual upgrade, but it's nice to see the same friendly faces around. I guess I wanted to post this thread to say thanks to everybody who helped me along my wetshaving journey to where I am now. I saw the edge of the shavepocalypse and came back alive. A place where fusion 4 packs are 30 dollars and there are no fine soaps to be found. It was a sad two years shaving with an old single ring, a body shop synthetic brush, and a puck of cello. I'm glad to be back to my past, and this morning as I put a new Atra SP in my slim adjustable and lathered with Taylor of Old Bond Street Rose I truly appreciated everything I had taken for granted in my past wet shaving. Oh, I missed you around here! Where did you go ? I hope things other than shaving were good for you. I know! I am often staring speechless at those "offers" when I see them. Now you guys know why I am into DE shaving. It does take a while, but now I am able to find acceptable soaps. Creams are easier to find, but soaps are rather difficult.
Welcome back! I'm sure you have some interesting stories from your time in Brazil, we'd love to hear a couple.
I love my Body Shop synthetic brush. It would be my brush of choice if forced to subsist with only a survival kit like you did.
