Good day to all lovers of wet shaving! I need advice in determining the model, and the approximate year of release. I ask a question at the request of one lover of wet shaving from Russia, who purchased this specimen. If you tell me how to care for such a copy, it will be very cool. Thanks to all. This is the first topic I created. I accept all claims, it will be useful to me .
This is a Gillette Single Ring, produced from 1906-1922. It is silver plated,so polish it up with something that is safe for silver plating. Nice score, I’ve owned one, they shave very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
[QUOTE = "mrchick, post: 1331462, участник: 13913"] Посмотрите внимательно на вал ручки. [/ QUOTE] Well, you gave a good clue. I'll write a friend to look carefully.
On photo # 8, there is a small stamp. Here it is in a red circle. Ohhhh !!! I can not delete unnecessary photos.
This machine was in a box from a German razor Rotbart Apparently a box from another razor. Was convenient for storage.
Nice score @AlDm! Here's my Single Ring... It has a serial number and is from 1911. Find the right blade for yours and it will shave great!
I can make out an A and a 1 on the barrel I think. That would put it at 1908. Used Razor Emporium's date code section.
It has the thick cap and baseplate, so it's '21~'28 and has no serial number. Also probably doesn't have the patent on the handle tube.
I have a single ring, no serial numbers. I think Gillette discontinued serial numbers during the '30's for them. Edit: Boo Boo, meant '20's.
You gave a good clue. I wrote to a friend that it is necessary to examine the handle of the machine well. And that you need to look for the letter A and the number 1.
