If clogging is the problem; maybe a razor with a release lever that would open the head for rinsing…

Hmm, none of my Straight Razors have ever clogged up. Even with only one blade. :duel:

Actually, the Schick Xtreme2 disposable still in production has the "unclogger" on it that you press. Schick intoduced this back in the 7os or 80s with their twin carts they called "Ultra."

What made me laugh even more is that the Patent Office actually entertained yet another patent for a multiblade. You've seen one, you've seen'em all, I'd say.

I’ve never had a problem with clogging with my DE and injector razors. The only time I had that problem was back when I used the multi blade razors back before I started wet shaving.

So you used to dry shave with the multi-blade razors? ;)

People respond to numbers when considering purchases. It can refer to a software version number, the number of blades in a cartridge, or anything else. Bigger is better.
Bic, Schick and Gillette will innovate with cartridges because that is where the profit margin lies. No worries, we still have plenty of great double-edge blades to choose from.

True, but I kinda think that article is more "dog bites man" than "man bites dog." So they spaced the blades a little further apart -- big deal. They got a patent for that? I also don't see what's so special about where the handle connects to the cart -- I've seen carts where it connects low, with a low pivot point. I believe Harry's works like that.

"Man bites dog" is the current "DE razor wars" of the Traditional Wet Shaving that is in a Renaissance that the majority doesn't know about. The money spent on research and manufacturing of all these new DE and SE offerings that seem to come out monthly certainly ain't hay.

A big laugh from me: "So BIC spent the last five years researching and designing around what could make measurable improvements in the shaving experience."

It took them 5 years? I think a 5 year old could have figured out that if the blades clog too easily, the solution is to space them further apart.

The shave gels would build up in-between the blades and was hard to rinse out. Trac-2, and Atra gave me problems. Switching to soap and brush was the answer.

When my disposeABLE clogs, I just flip it underwater, and.....SAYANARA BABY(the excess soap, not the razor lol).

BIC, thinking they’ve actually improved the cartridge razor , and fast company dot com for taking it seriously enough to give it virtual ink.

From what I got from it, I mainly go by the pictures, they threaten to drown each one if it clogs before putting them into the package.

That doesn't look unlike their Flex4 razor which has been out for years.

I did with a Mach3 prior to 2010. Sometimes a splash of water on the face or in the shower if I had time.
