Now that I own a digital caliper and can do my measuring without having to be a brainiac, I'm going to attempt my first brush restoration with this Ever-Ready travel brush set I won yesterday. If you're so inclined or just really bored, feel free to follow this thread as it grows. The eBay pictures:
yeah, ill be keeping an eye on this, a brush restore is on my list of to do things, but its just finding the right one Ebay uk, has no where near as many vintage brushes listed, but im sure if i wait i'll find one i want, I like the size of the one you have there Jody
Can't wait Jody.I may have to get a travel set to reknot now. BTW, in a pinch just put your conversions into google and it'll spit it right out. Use "x inches to mm" or pretty much any other units of measure and it'll poop out the answer for you.
I'm sure the knot choice is going to be determined by the knot size. TGN doesn't have some sizes in certain grades. If this brush is as small as I think it is (it looks kind of similar to the Gillette brushes that come in the old type travel sets), I think it'll be better to go with a firm knot which means either a Pure badger knot or a Finest badger knot.
The brush arrived today and just as I expected, it's one of those tiny brushes like the ones that came in the 1920s Gillette travel sets. This should be fun! Got a lot going on this week but it'll happen!
