Any thoughts on a first shavette style, IBC straight or the Feather SS? I like the multi blade abilities of IBC and the weight but feather has a great reputation and reviews??
I love my Feather. It is a great razor period. It is the ultimate combo of DE close and SR fun. I want to get the Artist Club DX Japanese style next.

I love my Feather Artist Club DX with the Super Professional blades. These blades are very aggressive and very sharp. It takes a lot of practice with this to start getting good shaves and not get any knicks. I have also used the Feather AC SS. The blade holder on this is designed with a curved lump that helps protect your skin from the blade kind of like training wheels. Ultimately though, the AC DX will give you the most control and best shaves once mastered.
I completely agree about the training wheel comment, but the AC SS will cut you. I got a little fast and cut the poop out of my cheek. The blades are so sharp they will cut you before you even realize. It is almost like a false sense of confidence.
I have the cheap kamisori style holders the Sam Seong and CJB. I didn't notice that the blades were any sharper than a DE but they do last longer. I can't use a Feather DE because its too sharp. All of the AC blades have been great except the mild. I have had 2 cuts in the last 2 months. One was from being startled and one was from a wrinkle that got cut off with a new Kai Captain original blade.I've been daily shaving with them for 2 months and they feel great. I would like to try a IBC razor.
