I was just perusing the TV channels and saw Judas Priest on A&E for the "private sessions" show. When they began the show, they started with a recent concert. In the back drop was this...... I grew up with good ol' rock n roll. Ah the days of my wasted youth! What are your favorites?
Led Zeppelin (Best ever. Period.) Tool (Whatever you do, don't think about the lyrics) Metallica (reload and older...new stuff blows, YMMV) Clutch (most under-acknowledged modern band ever) Slipknot (pioneers of percussion)
Wow, hard to remember them all, at one point I carried over 200 cassette tapes in my Bronco... No particular order: 1. Nazareth 2. AC/DC (R.I.P. Bon) 3. Ozzie 4. Van Halen (not Van Hagar)
Nine Inch Nails Nirvana Alice In Chains- Probably the most talented musicians of the early 90's alternative/ grunge era Soundgarden Metallica Pearl Jam I'm listening to The Tragically Hip right now, there aren't many songs I don't like from them. Solid band.
Best Rock 'n Roll? No particular oder, but here's what I think of first: -Beatles (I don't care if they broke up before I was born!) -Led Zepplin -Goo Goo Dolls -Queen -Def Leppard (it's a guilty pleasure) I'm sure I could add a bunch with a little time. I also listen to much more than just rock.
this is such a tough thing to narrow down there are so many amazing artists out there but for just sheer enjoyment i would have to say -Pink Floyd -Dave Mattews Band -Talking Heads -Phil Collins -Japan i like the older stuff that came out 10-20 years before i was born. like thats my favorite list but cant forget Led Zepplin, Steely Dan, Genisis etc so many great bands and artists.
1. Southern Rock (a broad catetgory encompassing Lynrd Skynrd, Allman Brothers, 38 Special, etc.) 2. Led Zeppelin 3. The Who 4. Stevie Ray Vaughn 5. Bob Marley (the Legends Album is Epic) 6. Of course, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band
I know you are a Zep Freak, so check these out. I was even surprised I had LP's of them. In relatively good shape, too.
