I like it how IKEA discreetly has pictures of traditional shaving equipment in their pictures on the website and catalogue. This has a straight, a brush and I think a shave soap too. But not sure I just noticed the empty Palmolive aftershave bottle On the top. The one i just bought the other day!
The real challenge comes in determining which part to short the customer on and which unnecessary part to substitute.
Their genius comes in the practice of trapping the customer in the store. Once in there, you need a map, compass, and a Saint Bernard dog to find your way to the exit.
The wife thinks I'm going with her to look at furniture. In truth I'm just there for the meatballs. But them I do end up being tempted into buying something for the house.
I worked in a furniture factory and one of the many things we made were wardrobes for Ikea. Rumour is they were harsh to deal with. There was a time when the price of wood went up 35%. Our bosses told Ikea. They didn't care. They refused to pay any more and they can afford to do that. But it's hard for small factories like that one who rely on big orders from Ikea to bare the burden of a 35% price increase.
Hahahaha there is shortcuts, but hey still manage to get you to walk by something you need or find useful for your home hahaha
The meatballs are really good! I have read a lot of things like this. The reason for it is that IKEA uses Target Cost strategy. If the cost for something goes up, they need their prices to stay the same. IKEA has sadly been the reason for bankruptcy for some companies. They have that kind of power over suppliers
And don't forget: they sell some great shaving soap tins http://www.ikea.com/de/de/catalog/products/80102919/ and mugs that come with integrated brush holder discontinued now though
