People shouldn't make fun of amateurs. Remember, it was Noah who built the ark, but engineers who built the Titanic.
But did Noah measure twice and cut once? Or was he right the first time? And are cubits and Q-bert related? And who mucked out the bottom of the ark?
If I received very specific instructions from the Lord, I’d measure at least 47 times! I wouldn’t want to be the one that messed that up! Little humor , but I’m very serious!
I think hobbies, or just time to enjoy some time doing somethingare great. I haven’t taken the time to really enjoy some things the way I should have. I’m retired now, and still can’t get around to enjoying my pastimes like I should. I’ve particularly enjoyed target shooting, both competitive as well as just plinking. When I was competing, I really focused on safety, improving skills, and having fun, versus feeling pressure to win a match. I’ve also enjoyed table tennis for most of my life. I’ve competed in multi-state tournaments and state championships, having won one state title in doubles. Yet I really enjoy playing for the fun of it. I just need to make a little more time to do those things instead of always worrying about getting “other” things done. Too much work and not enough play. There should be an appropriate balance, with neither getting out of whack.
