I made an interesting and revealing mistake a few days ago. I grabbed my son's razor and put it in my gym bag-I typically work out and shower/shave at the health club on Wednesdays. I've given him my Gillette New and he uses Feather blades. This particular blade had 5 shaves on it. As I rarely get more than 3 shaves out of a blade I was assuming I was in for a tugging and nasty shave. It felt like the second pass of a new blade! I'm not sure if this is because his 17 year old fuzz doesn't phase the blades or if mine is so gnarly it trashes them, I suppose a bit of each. Either way it was an interesting mistake. I love that I finally got him off of the electric.
That is interesting. Blades are a mystery. We really need to get a mad scientist with a lab interested in this hobby so we can find out the how's and why's of some of the lesser known virtues of it, like blade oddities. Where is Tesla when you need him.
