This link works fine: http://theshaveden.com/forums/forums/the-medicine-cabinet.55/ Notice no "www" in the URL. This link... http://www.theshaveden.com/forums/forums/the-medicine-cabinet.55/ ...gives me this (click image for large view): (notice "www" is in the URL) The issue is being caused if you use www in the URL...
That's odd Jody, I just tried it on my tablet and the links worked in reverse of how you have it posted, the top link shows me the error. I'll give it another go when I get to my laptop.
Currently on a laptop and the only difference I see is the first link (sans www) opens the page in the same tab, while the second link (with www) opens the page in a new tab.
Quoting myself here... the above was with Firefox. I opened the page in Chrome and logged in, now I get the error with the second link on the same machine.
This maybe server driven. Look at these references. http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t156447-why-is-www-necessary-in-some-urls.html or http://velocityreviews.com/forums/t156447-why-is-www-necessary-in-some-urls.html http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/web...-account-whm-cpanel-www-necessary-451034.html or http://sitepoint.com/forums/web-hos...-account-whm-cpanel-www-necessary-451034.html
Still the same machine and tried Opera and IE, with both of them I get the error on the first link, but the second link is fine.
I posted about this a bit ago. Sparky said it was an issue with the login cookies not being passed properly and that he would take a look at it when he had a chance.
And then the forum broke. That was a little different though. There was no error message. The forum just logged you out if you went from www to non-www, or vice versa.
And of course for the links Jody provided we're trying to jump to a forum I believe you have to be logged in to see; The Medicine Cabinet.
That's actually what happoened. Sparky tried something to fix the issue from that thread, and that something caused the forum to faint. Not sure if he has tried anything since. Maybe he'll grace us with his presence.
test; fully public forun links http://theshaveden.com/forums/forums/general.27/ http://www.theshaveden.com/forums/forums/general.27/
Still working on it. Browsers are viewing the site as two different versions. You can be logged into one or the other, or both simultaneously, which creates the problem. Working on correcting it via .htaccess file.
