I'm thinking about retiring my Futur since I find the head to be too big and bulky. It provides a great shave for the most part, but I can't get the stubble under my cheeks, upper lip, chin and certain parts of my neck, so I often have to touch up with another razor. maybe it's a technique issue, but I don't have any issues with other razors. I'm thinking about trying a 1959 Fatboy since I've heard so many great things about it. How does the head of the Fatboy compare with the Futur? Does anyone anticipate that I will run into the same issues? I wanted to check with the experts before I make the investment.
No, the FB is a bit smaller, but you may still have maneuverability issues, which is why a lot of people prefer the Slim or the Super Adjustable.
I can understand having a problem on the upper lip, but troubles with the other areas? I think you hit it when you said it's a technique issue. I do have both the Futur and Fatboy. Both are great razors. The head on the Futur is bigger, but then again, I have a 'stache, so I'm not shaving my upper lip. No problems elsewhere, though.
Just buy a fatboy and take a chance, I did and was very happy (I also got a slim) plus if you dont like the fatboy you should get your money back or very close to it if you re-sell on ebay
Yes I think I've decided to part with my Futur...only razor I own that I don't really like. I wrote Santa and he has promised me a Fatboy this year if I stay out of trouble. Looking forward to it
