I bought this Boar brush from a turkish store
It's a Boar brush,no trick with words this time
I have been told that i will face some problems as glue in the base of the bristles but i had to figure it out myself
Guess what, the same happened to me,my brush has glue overflow and some other problems in the handle.

The shape of the handle is good but has cheap lacquer on
I can not do anything for the glue in the bristles and the ring is not alignment correctly
A re-handle work soon will follow.

Buy Omega or Semogue for boar brushes. Better quality, not much more money and if you have problems, better return policy.

Doryferon and I have a similar habit of reworking handles and knots. If you look up either one of our names on a search you will find all sorts of modifications. More of a side show hobby rather than needing a new brush!

I would love to see how it turns out. Hope you didn't pay too much for it.:angry019::shocked003:

In Greece we say "η φτηνεια τρωει τον παρα"
Can be translated as "the cheapness ruins your money".

I have some Boar brushes and i have tested some more
Base knot about 25mm and loft 54.5mm
    The knot is crooked
Cost 16.99 total (item plus shipping)
I won't buy again a similar brush from there.

Yes. I am aware of your predisposition towards brush restorations, but was not aware that Doryferon did the same. The brushes I usually pick up for restore are vintage and not new. I was just offering advice.

@Dusan - Срдачан поздрав из Грчке, знаш колико те волимо.

@crackstar - חבר שלי, אתה מכיר אותם יותר מדי, ואתה יכול להבין אותי יותר טוב

Here are some photos from the first shavings
Of course need some break-in more.

Although i have the soap for long time ego and tested with many brushes as you can see the quality of the lather isn't good.
The shape of the knot attracted me to buy it and have it in my collection but i saw latter that it's mounted crooked.
With another handle and some shavings more maybe i will have better results but i can not guarantee that.
I don't know if it's worth to pay 17 $ for this brush and some money more for another handle
As a hobbyist i have some handles spare but another member maybe not
From all of my brushes this one has the most badly appearance as is now.
The question is: do you want a flat shape Boar brush with such a bad looking ?
