Epic shave last night gents! @stingraysrock posted the video below to a thread in the shave school yesterday and I though I would give skin stretching another shot. I had given skin stretching a shot before and didn't really notice a difference but after watching the video I learned that I wasn't stretching nearly enough. After two passes WTG and XTG I was nearly BBS. I could have just done some touch up but I went for a 3 pass XTG the other direction. The result was the closest shave I've ever had without going ATG. BBS through and through and still very smooth 10 hours later. Also another new thing I tried was to put a drop of lime EO and a drop of glycerine in my scuttle before lathering. This turned the normally pleasant lemon pledge scent of Arko into a bouquet of lemon lime goodness and the glycerine helped keep the Arko from being overly drying. Finished off with a splash of my homemade lime AS and fell asleep rubbing my face! Have a fantastically wonderful day my friends!

Thank you Charlie. I have really enjoyed this month with the Timeless OC and Route 66 Soaps. I will finish out this week before moving on to other razors and soaps.

Great set up, Andrew! I've also added glycerine to my lather. It allows the mixture to pick up more water, for sure. I may try adding EO to some of my unscented soaps. I started purchasing unscented products, but I've since found I prefer the scented varieties. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for the summary. It makes things easier to follow for this poor old broken down flatfoot.

Thanks for the kind word! Glad to hear it works for you. It's one of those "stop trying so hard and just do it" moments I had that helped me get more comfortable shaves, especially with an open blade. What I can feel is far more important than what I can see.

That Artique will freeze your cheeks off as a finisher. Have you ever tried the soap? I never have, but always wanted too.

This month I focused on using Route 66 soaps, Vintage Gillette razors, and on using brushes that I don't often use.
The results have been eye opening. I have in the works replacing the knots in four brushes. I have enjoyed using my Vintage Gillette's, which I usually do. I can honestly say that every Route 66 soap has performed outstanding. Thanks to all who have participated. :happy096:
I will think about my focus for next month and post it on my first shave for February.

This picture will be my shave later today.
Razor: Timeless OC w/ Hempel handle
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (6)
    Brush: Rubberset #3 original boar
    Soap: Route 66 Frozen Margarita
