As you can tell by it's name, this razor is made in China. My GF gets stuff from there and I saw this on their site, and considering that it's under $10.00, why not try it. It comes in a dark blue plastic case, and it's securly held in place, along with a pack of blades, which I probably won't use. Comparing it to an EJ89 razor, it's more aggressive, I'd say medium. It's a two piece design, as the handle stays with the bottom plate. The cap covers the ends of the blade and weighs in at about 51 grams. The handle, in my opinion, is pretty well designed, with nice knurling and the concave section is perfect for holding on to. It comes in three colors, silver, gold and grey, which mine is. I used a Gillette Silver Blue blade and got an effortless BBS shave. This would be a nice razor for travel as it's not expensive, and if lost or stolen, oh well............
This looks really tasty... and Aliexpress has it with free shipping at about $7 US for me. . I just had to bin my Mingshi 2000s (Merkur clone) after 5 years - it just got stuck... so I switched to a BD191 which I bought at the same time... swapped out the handle for a rather nice one that came with a very nasty chinese razor some 4 years ago which threatened to remove my nose (I didn't even put it to my face - you could see it was ridiculous). Interestingly - maybe through muscle memory - I now get a perfect shave from the Baili head and basically lost interest in adjustability. The handle was a real game changer - perfect finger grips and still like new.
Interesting looking razor, though it probably won't be in my collection as of past couple years I enjoy razors with more blade feel.
I bought one as it looked beautiful and was cheap so why not try it. Unfortunately, the blade is extremely poorly supported and there's excessive edge flex, resulting in not just relatively high level of aggression (which I don't mind) but unpredictable performance. After each shave, I would inevitably end up with one or two bloodless scratches that look nothing like typical cuts from a sharp blade, but more like someone dragged a fingernail across my neck. I can only contribute that to excessive blade chatter. The overall shave is always unpleasant. I am using medium aggressive razors like Parker Variant at 3.5 or Maggard V3A, so I can compare. If you zoom in on the photo above, you can see that not only the base itself is pretty narrow, but it has rounded edges, resulting in minimal blade support and insufficient clamping. This is a pity, as it's a very nicely made razor. If they redesign the base to provide better clamping, I'd definitely be interested.
It looks like the blades that came with your razor are the RZR Iguetta Platinums. From my testings, they are superb blades. I am currently testing blade, and I have 52 shaves on it. Definitely try them.
Unless they have more than one mold, I’d think that it is by design. If I load a blade into it and press on the edge with my fingernail, the blade flexes more than it does with any other of my razors. Your face and hair may not be as sensitive to excessive blade chatter.
