Even though I am not big on the menthol kick as a lot of my Deninites are, I was just wondering if any of those that strive for the ultimate cooling sensation, store their menthol A/S in the refrigerator. Wouldn't that kick it up another notch?

There are a few that do exactly that, and others use ice cold water from the fridge to splash with after shaving.

I've never refrigerated any of mine but have contemplated it. The ground is cold enough up here that I splash with tap water to rinse and nearly all of my creams/soaps are mentholated so it is nice. I may put AS in the fridge but chances are I'd forget it for a week or just be too lazy to leave the bathroom to get it.

  4. With the amount of snow we've personally been getting lately, I find it best just to walk outside and bend down slightly. You will find your face surrounded by freezing white fluff that cools more than any product on the market. Also, it's free.

I like a light kick. This pre-during-post shave methol-palooza is nuts.

To finish off my shave what I do is take a nice terrycloth facial towel and put it is a bowl with ice and water. I leave it there while I shave. I may put a little bit of Eucalyptus Essential Oil. Then after my shave and my final rinse I take out the towel wring it just enough so its not dripping wet and lay it on my face for 2-3 mins. It is very refreshing. I then place towel back in ice water, hit my face with the alum bar, wring and do another 2 mins. then I am done and on my way.

I don't like a ton of menthol, but I enjoy C.O. Bigelow, and add it to many lather mixtures to balance it out. I do, however, refrigerate my witch hazel and keep my pinaud in the freezer. The cold takes the edge off the Bay Rum Burnout.
