Bio - born with a Techmatic in my hand, wised up and switched to a Schick injector in basic black for a couple years. Then I inherited my grandad’s Gillette Old Type, bought a Merkur 36 slant for those other days, and never looked back. It was Williams in a coffee mug (with a cheap, bent, banded boar just sitting in it) for a couple decades. Now I’ve got Cella and Arko as well, but my best soap is homemade, gifted me by a shave brother. And my brushes get thoroughly cleaned and dried between uses. I must be retired with leisure time for shaving! Biases - these days I like brass, stainless, OC, slants, DE, Gem SE, Schick injectors, and recently, straights. And I have too many unbanded boars in rotation with one lonely badger. Projects - straight shaving, honing, wild vintage SRs, brush making Failings - beard and mustache of long standing. Don’t hate. Great to be here, I’m already hanging out with some friendly, knowledgeable and talented brushmakers. Time for a stroll around the forums.
Welcome to TSD from Southeast PA! Sounds like you bring a lot of great experience! Looking forward to your contributions!
Welcome @Tanuki from here in western NY. Glad you decided to join us at TSD. I'm mainly in vintage DE, such as Gillette and Schick Krona, but dabble with Schick Eversharp injectors as well.
Very little of that here at TSD. Welcome @Tanuki of the West Coast, from a non Minimalist South Coast resident who's dabbled in a few of your interests. If there's anything we can point you toward, just ask. We're slap full of opinions, advice, even actual information. I'm glad you brought your experience with you because I may have a question or two for you!
