A small tube of this shave cream was included in a NOS set consisting of a 1961 Gillette Tech,Blue blades,Kaloderma shave cream all in a nice travel case. I tried out the Kaloderma which the box reads in German. It also said Wolff & Sons which I assume owned the company. This stuff lathered very easy and appeared as fresh(lemon fragrance) as the day it was made. Great smooth shave. Its my understanding the present day Kaloderma might be made in Canada.
The Kaloderma made nowadays for Greece and Canada are far from the quality the old Kaloderma had. Jeff says it's quality is below Florena Regular. Kaloderma is now a brand of berlin-cosmetics.
As herzi said, the new canadian Kaloderma has nothing whatsoever to do with the old one which has been discontinued for almost two decades now in the last version manufactured by Schwarzkopf.
So the Kaloderma that is offered for sale from a Canadian retailer is new new stuff nothing like the shave cream that was made in 1961. Thanks guys for the heads-up. I will use the original very sparingly NOS
Tiberiu, both the versions are very nice! The Original Kaloderma cream of Germany has a very distinct and definite scent, with a RICH and stable lather, which is completely different from the Canadian version. Both work super-good.
