I recently got a keen kutter on ebay. Do these take the normal TP blades that every other SE uses

No, looking on eBay I see a Keen Kutter that includes a blade, and the blade has shoulders on it that help hold it in place.

Here is a link to a finished eBay auction that shows a close up pic of the blade.

    The Simmons Keen Kutter

The Keen Kutter was made by The Christy Company of Fremont, Ohio for The Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis. Simmons has been out of buisiness since the 1940's and Christy hasn't made razors for several decades.

The blade was unique and, to my knowledge, you won't find any modern blade that will fit the Keen Kutter or any other Christy made razor. You might find some unused old blades, but keep in mind that these won't be up to what you are used to in modern, coated blades. I predict that you won't be happy with the shave from any such old stock blades.

The Keen Kutter and the Christy were quite popular in their day and I feel that they deserve a place in a razor collection but not in your shaving rotation.

    Regards,
    Tom

I picked up a NOS Keen Kutter razor and two sealed packs of blades and just had to try a shave.:rolleyes:The result was surprisingly good.:D It is a very light but nimble razor.Sort of like using a Gem with a smaller head.
