Just some feedback on Kent shaving soap, my girlfriend has just ordered some for me(I can't complain as it's costing me nothing) just wanted to know if anybody has tried it, thanks

Oh yeah, many folks have, it is better known as Mitchell's Wool Fat.

Its an ok soap, will make your face pretty soft and smooth, its tricky to lather for some people.

As stated above it is just re-branded MWF. I like my MWF soap. It is a great soap very soothing and moisturizing. If you can't get a lather normally might try it with a bit cooler water and get the puck damp before you jump int he shower.

Those have helped me lather up some MWF. MMMM

I love me some MFW. I used it this morning, in fact, with excellent results. Great smell - I can't get enough of it and it cares for your skin really well. I have never had any problems making lather with it, but I know some people do. I think you will enjoy it.

I have to agree that the smell is amazing...though hardly noticeable. This shave soap leaves my face feeling the freshest after shaving. Other brands make my face feeling dried out, etc, but not this soap!

Are we sure the Kent soap is the same as the MWF, or is the Kent just made for them by MWF. I would think there would be some difference, but I'm no soap chemist.

I tried the MWF, and although it lathered super-easily and rich for me, and I enjoyed the scent, I could not tolerate the irritation and burning sensation that it gave me. I suspect that the Kent is the identical soap, because the same thing happened to me, and the scent and everything else about it appeared to be the same as the MWF.

I don't know too many guys who have tried as many soaps and creams as me. Just 2 guys on a German Forum, and 1 of them has actually tried a few more! :happy097:

I have a tub of Kent with a silver lid. It has a lot of menthol and is not MWF but a great cream, so they must have others. Our expert Jeff will have to let us know about the others. I got mine in a trade so I know nothing other than it is quality.

    That's Kent's shaving cream.

The Kent soap and MWF are the same soap.

:signs011: I also see that Bluebeards Revenge shave soap is relabeled MWF too.

Me, the expert? No, I don't think so, but thank you for your nice compliment. :) Kent soap is NOTHING at all like the cream in any way, shape or form. The 2 items are as different like the day and the night. The cream is full of menthol, but the soap is a definite and true soap, which is a twin of the MWF.

I have seen that one but have not tried it; my MWF soap is large and so far using it has not made a dent the the size. It may be in my Den until the sheep come home.....aaaargh, couldn't help myself

No need to try it, unless you can find it cheaper in your area that MWF. On their web site they state straight-up that it IS repackaged MWF soap.
