Can anyone tell me anything about this razor? Age and all that good stuff. Thanks. Sorry about my pic quality its all I have. All I know is it is a King Cutter.
I can't read the name on the tang but H. Böker & Co. produced the King Kutter (or Cutter) model. History of there Böker company here: https://www.boker.de/us/history.html To attempt to date the razor with some accuracy, the 'Tree' icon on the tang will help place it in the proper timeframe of production. These models pop up sometimes on ebay or one can find them occasionally in antique stores, where I happened across this King Cutter for $15. It is in my restoration queue. The tree on the tang puts it comfortably in the 1924-1935 time of production. Vintage Bökers make fine razors. usually they can be had for a fairly low investment and fully-restored, are very capable shavers.
Thanks. The tree on the tang on mine is identical for the 1924-1935 but unlike your tree icon mine is vertical instead of horizontal like yours.
They rotate the tree depending upon how much info is on the tang and how much real estate is/was available.
Other than a KC and looks like celluloid or acrylic scales (more than likely celluloid) if very old and made of carbon steel and I would say a 5/8 sq. point and looks rather nice!
I have a new Boker Elite and they say the vintage older Boker's are even better!!!! If they are, I need to get hold of one like you have! Congrats and nice razor.
