It's a good thing for me that I received a big block of this great soap before it was discontinued. Ease of lathering: 10/10--Lathers like crazy. Rich, thick, and dense. Longevity of lather: 10/10--Always stays stable. General skincare: 7.5/10--Fairly good moisturizing. No complaints. Scent: 7.5/10--Although I'm not really a fan of rosy scents, this one's quite nice. Price: 8/10--I remember it being quite reasonably-priced in Germany. Would I buy again: 8/10--I probably would if I could get it again. This soap was originally made for use as a German barbershop soap and then it became available to the public. I find it quite classy and I felt a bit unhappy when it was discontinued.
I think it is Dusy...suppose to be pretty much the same I hear. Someone will come along and say I hope!!
I have Dusy Kabinett now and have used Klar in the past. As far as performance, I can't tell any difference. If I ever use up my supply of Dusy, I will buy more.
I enjoyed Klar Kabinett for the price and used a bunch of it. The large blocks for $20 was a deal at a time when I was completely burned out on Arko. While being a nice soap, I don't think it deserves the mythical status it received once it became discontinued.
BTW, Palm oil vs. Coconut oil is the MAIN difference between the two. I have used both extensively and I can tell you that there is NO discernible difference between the two.
Hmm, Klar discontinued? It's still for sale. Isn't this the same stuff? https://www.smallflower.com/klar/sh...MI7a2hm7mr2QIVklx-Ch2MJA2UEAQYASABEgI8ZPD_BwE I have the sandalwood scent in my custom Mervyn Cadman bowl. I LOVE this soap. It's a 9.5 out of 10 overall for me and my 3rd favorite brand of shave soap.
Are you sure? The symbol of the polar bear lifting the cub from the icy water sure looks the same. Look close. Seems like the same company logo. Here's my soap and bowl: Man I love this soap. It's some incredible stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the stuff of legend.
Ahh. Okay. Makes me wonder what the original was like because the formula I got is about as top notch as I could want. I don't have a single complaint of the performance outside of perhaps only the slightest criticism of the residual slickness and it needing a few drops of water by the 3rd pass's face lather application. I don't consider those real criticisms of a soap's real performance quality. It's a very easy soap to use and luxurious.
I still have a bar of Klar packed away somewhere. I agree that it does not deserve mythical status. Yet, I am still hoarding my tube of Noxzema Lather Shave... Must be the Stirling Electric Sheep that has my focus these days..
I have a 100g block of KK I got in a trade. It is a hard block and should last practically forever. Nice light rose scent, have only lathered it a couple times so can't comment if the performance is there or just unobtainium hype.
