I recently purchased a kohinor boar brush from gary at shoeboxshaveshop. Its listed as an entry level brush to the koh-i-nor line up. All I can say is wow. Its a densly packed 22mm knot in a cheap plastic handle. Thats the only bad thing I have to say about this brush. And they said it for me with the entry level to the brand description. This brush is almost completely broken in after only 10 uses. By far the most backbone ive ever had in a brush and now with all the split tips as soft as my f2 finest. Im anxious to purchase a brush from their line that isnt entry level. And may have to put this amazing knot in a different handle just to hold me over till then
Those handles don't look that cheap..at least from the pictures. These look like interesting brushes. Thanks for posting..
I have a Koh-i-noor. My handle is acrylic resin, not plastic. Very nice boor brush and it is in my brush rotation with the badgers.
I've always wondered how does one discern between an entry level brush and a brush for more experienced shavers ?? For me a brush(knot) either works or doesn't, making the materials and the price the only real difference...That said I do like the looks of the resin handle for the Koh-I-Noor #007J. However I don't particulaly like the band around the knot or the knot loft(rather it were shorter say 50mm)...And at double the price of the #SC67 its pricey for me at least...
I had a Koh-I-Nor brush in the past. It was an alu handled version of the Omega Pro. It was nice, the hair was a little finer than the Omega. I forget what happened to that one.
