A couple months ago, I found myself a project. After stripping 4-5 layers of paint, the beautiful grain of quarter sawn oak shined through. As was advertised in the cataloge listing I found, it was stained in a Golden Oak finish. Just waiting on upholstery now. I had the funds to compete this project, but purchased another project chair.
Thanks guys! I lucked out and the paint preserved quite a bit of the nickel plate on the brackets, it's not perfect, but not needing replated. After Christmas is over, I should be able to buy some leather and get her done.
Chair #2. It's a bit rough. Trying my hand at replating though. Learning new skills. First, rust removal via reverse electrolysis. Should be replating in brass on Monday.
