I'm not known among friends for being the most wordy of persons nor the one to display enthusiasm on every occasion. But holy cannelloni, the Bespoke soap from LASSC got me going - in the privacy of my own bathroom, admittedly - and I had to put my sensation into words (albeit perhaps not in the longest of reviews)

This is as slick and cushioning a soap as any, so performance is up there where it should be. Not sure if it's the absolute best I've tried; let's say a 9/10.

What set it aside, however, is the fabulous scent that simply eludes clear description. Once lathered up, it's warm and fiery, fresh and crispy, spicy and peppery, floral and gentle, earthy, gingerbread and stout, sweet, tart and tangy. Quite the chameleon! A 10/10, no doubt. Scent lingers just right post shave, lurks in the background for a couple of hours.

Post shave skin feel also on par with the best.

My wholehearted recommendations! An all year soap with a slight bias toward fall and winter. And spring. And summer ;)

Price-wise, it's not a winner, however. Parts of the proceeds were donated to cancer research, they tell us, which may justify a higher price provided that this still applies to a percentage of those 28 bucks that LASSC still charges.

(Review based on sample from Maggards.)

Just when you thought you had overcome the urge to buy new stuff ... :angry017:

Nice review though. There are far too many great artisans in the US!

LA soaps are pretty good and don't get a lot of praise on the forums. I like Spring Street, it reminds me of B&M Solarion and Trumpers Spanish Leather.
