The Lanolin Factor I’m noticing a distinct improvement in the shaves I get from the Godrej shaving creams. Is it because of the lanolin? Maybe, maybe not. I get good shaves with Omega shave cream and it contains lanolin too! If I recall correctly, the old Palmolive lather shave cream contained lanolin and I always got a good shave with it. As usual, I’m ready to go off the deep end with this discovery. What other creams out there contain lanolin? Another question: Is lanolin only used in the cheaper creams? If so, why? Of course, now that I’m ready to start trying every cream ever made using lanolin as an ingredient, someone will post a factoid describing how lanolin causes man-boobs or some other undesirable side affect.
It doesn't cause man-boobs, but it DOES cause spontaneous human combustion. Godrej is great stuff and I've been enjoying it for a while. It really holds it's own against some of the more expensive creams out there.
This so calls for a pic, but I better not or it'll be big trouble. So here's a link instead. Sort of ties in to the whole "needs a shave" thing too. (Don't worry, nothing X rated, just disgusting!) Oh yeah. I like lanolin too.
Okay, has the whole world gone insane???? Musgo Real! And don't confuse low price with cheap! Musgo Real will give you as good a lather as any of the fancy creams out there, if not better.
Lanolin rocks. Most of the indian creams contain lanolin. It's gotten to the point that I can look at the cream, and tell if it has lanolin or not, as the lanolin products seems to have a distinctive sheen to them. However... Godrej creams are spectacular performers, and I fear that their low prices are scaring away potential users.
I thought that brand sounded familiar, I remember seeing Godrej when I was in India last month...though it was for Bottu (the stuff used to make the red/black dot Indian women wear). Interesting that they make shave cream, and that it's good. Maybe I'll have to try it so I can represent...
An excellent point, Sparky, I wonder if the same can be said for the Derby brand shaving creams. I think I'll order some of them and see if they're any good. Does anyone know if the Derby creams contain lanolin as an ingredient?
someone, quick...pass the eye bleach.... (maybe this capsaicin nose spray will work....) here's something I've tried with positive results - Williams shave soap, a few drops of liquid lanolin...very nice!
I've heard of people putting a drop of glycerin on williams, never thought about adding liquid lanolin. Sounds like a good idea! Something like this liquid lanolin.
