I discovered via use of a sample of Mike's that I am a HUGE fan of lanolin/tallow soaps... Does anyone make an almond scent? And what are some others on the must try list?
you cant go wrong with Mitchell's Wool Fat. btw, the best lather from the fat comes from face lathering.
I think RazoRock is tallow (almond scented). And valobra stick is also tallow, but not the soft soap, IIRC.
Prairie Creations Tallow and Lanolin shave soap, which is nothing short of outstanding. It is one of the two best shaving soaps I have found, the other being Kell's Original.
I'm not certain it contains tallow, but Haslinger Schafmilch with Sheep Milk and Lanolin is fantastic.
Heather and lavender. Very subtle. Most of the almond scents come from Italy. Most of the traditional Italian soaps will almost always have an almond scent.
I just got the unscented lanolin in a trade & agree it's awesome. Will definitely go back for more scents. Joanna has a lot of great options
Mitchel's Wool Fat smells like the hide of a sheep. It really does. We slaughter sheep for meat. Thats what it smells like. Surprisingly I am not disgusted by it. I am actually impressed by how natural MWF is. I get no lavender in MWF by the way.
Brooklyn to London shave soap is made by Mike, and it contins lanolin and tallow. It's available through sharp and shiny shop. My understanding is its kind if a Proraso Green smell.
I completely forgot I had a jar of TSD lanolin soap. I used it for the first time today. My jar is 2x Iced, Old Spice Type. This soap is wonderful. I face lathered with a SOC boar and the lather was rich and creamy. Nice cushion and glide from this soap. After shaving, I rinsed my face with cold water. I did not use any post-shave product (Alum, WH, AS or AS balm...). My face feels wonderful, the cooling effect of this soap is fantastic. This 2x Iced TSD lanolin soap is a real winner!
