just what the title says: I have a 29mm silvertip knot in going to set into an Anchorset brush (hopefully tonight). What loft would you recommend?

I've seen people recommend anything from 45-55. I like my silvertip to splay some, but I don't want it to be floppy (I face lather).

    Thanks in advance!

My recommendation is about 50mm. You should still be able to splay your brush and prevent floppiness.

55 mm is getting toward floppy but not there yet on a densely packed knot. If it is not that dense then 50mm would keep the backbone

Lots of variables here so it's tough to give a definite answer. My recommendation is to use a dab of silicone caulking to hold the knot in temporarily so you can test it. If you don't like it where it is, it's easy to yank out, change depth and try again before you commit to your final loft setting.

That said, it's a big knot so I think you'll want more loft than you might think. I'm going to throw a dart and say 53mm. :)

I'm going to test set it with hot glue tonight at 53mm and see how it works for me

53 seems to be the sweet spot! I'll get it set with epoxy hopefully tonight!
