On a lark, I have been using Lidl AllMan shave foam in a can for a week or so. Preceded by a coating of a Noxzema knock-off skin cleanser, the results have been stellar. Of course, I can no longer find it on the Lidl website, though I do see other AllMan products. If I remember correctly, the foam had been selling for around $1.
Have not tried the foam, but I love Lidl aftershave. Modern scents at a very low price, in GLASS containers!
"Little all man" sounded like a cute joke to me, so I surfed around -- I learned that Lidl is actually a grocery store that is German based (like Aldi) and they have opened a bazillion stores back on the East coast. They offer fewer item selections, which lets them leverage buying power to result in lower prices. Rather than emphasizing lower prices, they're advertising tends to focus on higher quality instead (at least when it comes to their store brands). This is an interesting shift in marketing strategy for a budget grocery store. Who knew?!? I wonder whose shaving products they've rebranded. Hmm... - Bax
Rise, maybe? There are no Rise Superfoam products on the website that bears its own name. Embarrassing.
Yes, I've been using the after shaves and balm for several years now. They still use glass containers, but they cheapened the plastic cap a couple of years ago. It used to be a heavier, harder plastic that spun on like a top -- a quick twist, you let go, and the cap continued to spin until tight. So I saved the old caps and transfer them to new bottles.
They brand the shaving products differently in Europe as opposed to the U.S., where they are called AllMan. I believe they call them Cien in Europe, though I once bought their twin-blade cart pack in the U.S. that was branded Cien.
The foam is made in the U.K. according to the label. All I could find on their site currently was gel. The after-shaves are made in Germany, and are knock-offs. They are called AllMan Fearless and Defiance in the U.S. Defiance also comes in the spray Edt. They also rebrand Harry's razors as AllMan, or at least they used to -- haven't checked recently. Back to the foam -- very comparable to Barbasol with aloe. Dare I say just as good? As canned foams go...
