I bought a 40 Blade Sampler pack. I was interested in the LOI Titanium which had some good reviews. I've tried both the LOI & Sharp and found them to be good blades, when I noticed the boxes were almost identical. The Sharp Platinum box has a Hologram on it so it must be better. They are both made by SRBIL-DURABLADE https://durablade.biz/ Checking out the website, I noticed they make all kinds of blades. So the question begs to asked; What is the best blade coating? Platinum, Titanium, Teflon (PTFE), Chromium, Tungsten, Ceramic, None or Others? Does it really make a difference or does it prevent the blades from corrosion?
Subscribed. This shall be interesting to read. I don't know what the coatings do. I have tried mostly if nearly all the coatings. The Astra Keramic were great blades and I have heard the '74's with tungsten seemingly lasted forever. I got about 20 shaves off of a Voskhod many years ago, those are teflon coated.
Honestly I've found it to vary from blade to blade. Some are the same shave quality and others go one way or the other. I don't go by coating ..... I go by experience; which works or feels better.
