Right now i am using a merkur 34, and a adjustable gillet( not sure which one ) . I like the weight of the 34 . Just looking to try something new . So many choices , thought you all might help narrow the choices down .

Do you want a heavy razor, or a light one? Metal or plastic? Long handle or short handle?

Try an Open Comb or a Slant next.

It may be cause i haven't had this razor very long but a Merkur Barber Pole has treated me well so far. Nice long handle, nice heavy weight and not to crazy aggressive, they also offer it in a Slant.

I would like a heavy razor . the short handle of the 34 is nice , but not against a long handle . what does a high comb do that a regular one does not ? I am scared of a slant . but like what I read about slants . I have a very course set of wiskers . I shave about every other day.

Totally agree. I throw in another +1,000 for the SE razors.

The choices are endless, why are you scared of a slant? It's just a razor. Check out the iKon ShaveCraft 102. Great slant. Not scary.

The only reason for fear of slant is reading about the bleeding factor . but I guess there is a learning curve with anything

I recommend a Gillette New. Open comb that isn't to aggressive.

Sounds like a slant would fit the bill for you. My 37C cuts through my course fast growing stubble very well. I find it handles no differently than any other DE razor. If you want heavier, then go for the 39C. I always hear great things about that model.

What they all said. I would recommend a Schick SE if you can get one they sell a lot of them on e-Bay.

    Good Luck :happy088:

I would recommend an ATT R-1 with Atlas handle if you want a short handle or a Krono's Handle or a Cololssus Handle or any single set.

Schick Injector Type G 1946-1955 (Excellent Schick Chinese-made injector blades available on Amazon)
