Ladies and Gentlemen, I have noticed that we have several members from Louisana here on the board. I find this a wonderful thing and have a question for those folks. Would anyone be interested in a get together?? How about a social meeting to meet n' greet, discuss shaving related stuff, talk about the Saints and LSU? Bring the spouses so they can laugh at us while we talk shaving? If there is enough interest, I would be glad to handle the details. Just let me know if you're interested and where you are located so we can pick a more central location. Now, go enjoy your shaves.
That sounds good, but I can tell you right here and now that my better half thinks I'm nuts, getting all nostalgic over old-time shaving, and buying a motorcycle at my age. I'm retired and living in Baton Rouge, and can travel just about anywhere within a few hours of here... not too crazy about the New Orleans traffic though.
Not to worry, no New Orleans on the menu. I was actually thinking of Baton Rouge, depending on other replies. A more central location would probably serve us better. Let's see who else might be interested and go from there.
Well, there seems to be little interest in this. So I will put on the back burner and try again later.
missed this when you first posted it. I'd be game. I'm in Pineville, so the red stick's not too far for me.
Ah, renewed interest. To stir it up abit more, I will provide a couple of "door prizes". Let's get a couple more in here and see what we can do.
May I suggest you get together at Don's Specialty Meat Market in Scott (near Lafeyette)? Its just off the intersate and has a little deli area with tables and chairs. Mighty fine po' boys, boudin, meat pies, and they make their own seasoned cracklin's. :happy088
You can count me in. I'm on the road quite a bit, but with enough prior notice, I should be able to swing it.
So there are 4 of us so far. Wonderful, let's start planning. What are favorite cuisines? What time of day is most convenient? Any preference for a date? Would Baton Rouge be a good location? Thanks folks. And I'll bring the door prizes.
Since there will only be four of us, and since I live in Baton Rouge, I'd be happy to host the get-together at my home. We could pick a Saturday that my wife works, so we wouldn't have to be concerned about inconveniencing anyone. And, as far a cuisine goes, everyone could chip in and we could grill steaks, burgers, or whatever. Just a thought.
Anything we plan needs to be after Holy Week in order for me to participate. BR would be a fine meeting place. I like red meat...
Hey guys, How about April 17th? We can all lament on taxes as well by then. If that's acceptable, I'll continue with the planning. Thanks
